Equi-trekking Essaouira

Equi-trekking Essaouira

I took a week of between Christmas and New Years and hopped on a bus to Essaouira. I spent my first night at a cheap hostel in the old medina, getting a feel for the relaxed coastal town. The next morning, I met up with my guide and group for a three-day two night horseback trek through the region. Over the course of the trip, we traversed a rocky canyon, an argan forest, green fields, massive sand dunes, and long stretches of beach. Essaouira is famous for its windy weather, but conditions for our trek were perfect. Sunshine, a mild breeze, and temperatures around 65F/18C during the day and 50F/10C at night. We spent one night camping in tents and the other in a beautiful seaside guesthouse. Here are a few of my favorite photos from the trip!

I whole-heartedly recommend Equi Evasions treks! The horses, guides, food, and itinerary were all fantastic. Their website can be found here: http://www.equievasion.com/en/
